Not for Younger Kids

#FD156-Difficult Situations Fun Deck®

I am a K-2 special ed teacher and I was hoping to use these cards with my students. The cards are definitely meant for older students, despite the description saying PreK-Up. Out of the 56 cards, I would probably only use 15-20 of them for younger kids.

I love these cards because my kids love talking about them. They display real-life situations that can sometimes be difficult to bring up casually. The illustrations are fun to talk about too!

I use these cards with my older students who are working on improving their pragmatic language skills. The situations are, for the most part, real life and easy to relate to. Most of the time, my middle school students work with just the spoken scenario and do not need the picture. We work on identifying multiple solutions and then picking the best solution. It helps them learn good/bad choices, perspective-taking and what to say/do in many different situations.

I use the the Difficult Situations card deck with my students with autism. They benefit GREATLY from this resource. They are able to talk together to find the most reasonable solution to a difficult situation. There are so many real-life situations in this deck. Thank you, Super Duper for saving me the time from figuring out tons of difficult situations on my own!!
